Add a topic set

In the Topic Selector, a topic set is a category that groups related topics. A default set named “Topics” is created automatically.

To add topic set:

  1. Navigate to the Topic Selector app in your Canvas course.
  2. Click the + Add Set icon in the upper right corner.
  3. Enter the topic set details:

    • Topic Title: Enter a name that describes the category (for example, “Ecology Presentation Topics” or “Presentation Times”).
    • Date/Time (optional): Set a deadline for students to select a topic within this set.
  4. Click Save to create the topic set.

Edit a topic set

To edit a topic set:

  1. Navigate to the Topic Selector app in your Canvas course.
  2. Click on the kabob (three dots) icon next to the topic set.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Update the title or date/time as needed.
  5. Click Save.

Delete a topic set

To delete a topic set:

  1. Navigate to the Topic Selector app in your Canvas course.
  2. Click on the kabob (three dots) icon next to the topic set.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. In the confirmation window, click Delete again to confirm.

Return to the main Topic Selector page.
